Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the U.S. through membership at your home Y at no extra charge.
The Youth Center is typically staffed Monday - Thursday from 5PM to 8PM. Please check the schedule posted in the Youth Center for details on climbing wall hours and special events and activities.
The Y also hosts numerous community events throughout the year. Check back often or watch our Facebook page to see all the fun things we have going on !
Do you need someone to look after your child while you work out? We're here for you! Child Watch is complimentary for those with children age six weeks through six years who are included on their Y Family Membership. Please contact the Welcome Center for more information.
Through our partnership with Wilson Health, we offer complimentary Athletic Trainer services to our members. Day and evening hours are available each week. Hours are posted weekly at the Welcome Center. Call (937) 492-9134, x207 for more info.

Registering for a program is easy! Simply stop by the Welcome Center, or you may register online*.
*To register online, click on "Find Account" and follow the prompts. You MUST have an email on file with us in order for online registration to work. NOTE: for any class that is complimentary to those on a Family Membership, you MUST register via the Welcome Center in order to get your discount.

More infoThrough our Community Partners Program, the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA strives to turn no one away who lives or works in Shelby County due to their inability to pay. Approximately 2000 individuals each year receive full or partial assistance for memberships and programs participation. Assistance helps provide opportunities for such things as Teen Leadership programs, swimming lessons, child care and many other vital services and programs. REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 1st on our website (click "register) and in-person at the Welcome Center.
• Free to any child that has completed grades K-6.
• Free Parent/Child class available for 3-5 year olds.
- 45 minute classes are held Monday through Thursday (Parent/child classes are 30 min.)
- No charge to the participant or the participant’s family thanks to our sponsors: The Sidney Daily News, Minster Bank, and Ruese Insurance
-Even though there is no charge, advance registration is required due to limited space
• Classes assigned on a first come, first served basis
- Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion
In Water Safety Week, kids learn what to do if they find themselves in the water unexpectedly. Children learn fundamental water safety skills that include the concepts of reach, throw, don't go and what to look for in a safe place to swim as well as how to roll over onto their back to float/rest. Information on swim lessons will also be available.
Several class times to choose from:

• 9:45 AM - 10:30 AM
•10:30 AM - 11:15 AM
•11:15 AM - 11:45 PM Parent & Child*
• 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM
• 2:45 PM - 3:30 PM
• 5:45 PM - 6:30 PM
• 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM Parent & Child*
• 7:00 - 7:45 PM
*(Child must be 3-5 years old, potty trained, have not yet completed Kindergarten, and parent must get in water with child. Up to 2 children per parent.)
Starting March 27th, construction on our new infant/toddler center will impact parking in the East Lot, making spaces limited, however parking is also available in the West Lot and our Front Loop. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more updates on the project!
The Downtown Writers Center at the YMCA of Central New York is nationally-recognized for bringing high-quality literary arts programming to Ys around the country. Programming is open to all Y members and is available online, providing a unique space where aspiring writers can learn to craft stories, poems, and more!
