Active Adults Cardio Circuit
Beginner / Advanced Cardio Circuit for Active Adults is a more advanced fitness program than our Active Adults Muscular Strength & Range of Movement class and is especially designed for active older adults who are ready for additional cardio exercises. This class includes standing non-impact aerobic exercise designed to increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance alternated with upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a 7 centimeter exercise ball. 50 minutes.
Active Adults Muscular Strength & Range of Movement
Beginner / Advanced Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. 50 minutes.
Basic Step
Beginner/Advanced Join us for a low impact, moderate intensity step workout. There is no complex choreography, so this class is easy to follow. 50 minutes.
Boot Camp
Beginner / Advanced This intense total-body workout features plyometric exercises and an aerobic component comprised of sports-specific intervals and drills with emphasis on speed, agility and quickness. Athletes, this is a great class to keep you in shape during the off season. 50 minutes.
CardioSculpt
Intermediate / Advanced Get the same cardio that you have come to expect with VO2 Max, but with added strength training and toning! This class utilizes interval training, free weights and a number of other types of equipment to create a physically demanding cardiovascular and strength training workout. If you want to tone, burn calories and have fun this is the class for you.
Kickbox Aerobics
Intermediate / Advanced This class provides an intense workout for anyone. Those with experience will take kickboxing moves and apply them to a punching bag. The workout consists of a warm up, approximately 35 minutes of kickboxing with or without a bag, a cool down and finishes with core strength training and flexibility. Because you are hitting and kicking a weighted object, this class will develop more stamina, strength, muscle toning, precision and timing. It is also excellent for hand-eye coordination. Buy your gloves or wraps at the front desk. Gloves are only $25. Wraps range from $6-$8. 50 minutes.
Pilates
Beginner / Advanced With Pilates you will not only streamline your figure, you will dramatically improve your posture, flexibility and balance as well as enhance your physical and emotional well-being. 50 minutes.
P.U.L.S.E.
Beginner / Advanced Spice up your exercise routine with a cardio class that utilizes a variety of interval training techniques. Steps, free weights, resist-a-bands and stability balls are all used to increase cardiovascular fitness as well as tone and strengthen body. The routines are easy to follow and participants are encouraged to work at their own pace. 50 minutes.
Spinning 101
Beginner Come and learn all the basics of group cycling class! In this beginner level class, an instructor will teach proper bike setup, body positioning and exercise progression while motivating you through a workout that is less intense than our more advanced Spinning classes. Spinning is a superior low impact aerobic exercise which targets the leg muscles. Class is limited to 12 participants. 30 minutes.
Spinning
Intermediate / Advanced Not available for online registration. Please contact the YMCA Welcome Center to register. Cycling is a superior low impact aerobic exercise which targets the leg muscles. An instructor will motivate and lead you through the proper progression of exercise intensity, but you control the amount of resistance appropriate for your fitness level. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or looking for a fun way to get a great workout, you will love this class! Class is limited to 12 participants. 50 minutes.
Tai Chi
Beginner / Advanced Tai Chi (pronounced “tie chee”) is an ancient Chinese discipline that integrates mind, body and spirit. Practitioners use meditation and deep breathing as they move through a series of continuous exercises, called “forms,” which resemble slow-moving ballet. Though it originated as a martial art (evolving from qigong), tai chi is now practiced more for its therapeutic benefits, which include reducing stress, promoting balance and flexibility and even easing arthritis pain. 50 minutes.
Total Body Express
Intermediate / Advanced Join the Total Body workout to tone and sculpt your whole body with a quick 50 minute exercise! This class will focus on strengthening your muscles and building lean tissue while paying special attention to the core muscles through out your mid-section. Supplement your regular aerobic workout with a little strength training to see and feel the difference! 50 minutes.
TRX Suspension Training
The Suspension Training class is a unique training tool that provides endless exercise options for all fitness levels using your own body weight and gravity as resistance. In the Suspension Training class, you will learn exercises that develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. You will be able to transition fluidly from exercise to exercise with limitless variations to keep your workouts challenging, fun and results-driven. 30 minutes.
Weekend Warrior
Beginner / Advanced Whether you’re rounding out your current weekly workout or you only have time for one class a week, this class has you in mind! We’ve combined the elements of total fitness into one class. Cardio, strength and flexibility will provide you with a workout for your whole body. 50 minutes.
Yoga
Beginner / Advanced In this user-friendly fitness yoga, you will learn the fundamentals of Yoga postures. Because each of us is unique, the poses will conform to your level of fitness ability. You will be encouraged to move through the poses at your own pace. The many benefits of practicing Yoga include better balance, greater flexibility, improved digestion and circulation, increased physical strength and stress reduction. 50 minutes.
Zumba
Beginner / Advanced Want to experience the fastest growing dance craze? Zumba is the fusion of Latin and international dance moves and makes for a fun, simple and healthy workout.
Zumba Lite Zumba Lite is a fitness program designed to take the exciting Latin and International dance rhythms to the active older adult, or the beginner participant. Created to emphasize the basics, this program is so easy to follow that everyone can do it! This fun Latin inspired dance program includes Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Belly Dance, Flamenco, Tango and Rock and Roll. It is a safe, effective total body workout.
Aqua-Aerobics
This shallow water (chest deep) class gives a medium-level cardiovascular workout using the water as resistance. This class is designed for individuals needing more “push” than our PACE class. 45 minutes.
MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Swim
MS Swim provides pool exercise time for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis. 45 minutes.
Senior Splash
Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Senior Splash offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination. 45 minutes.
Water-cise
In our highest intensity water exercise class, participants can take the class in shallow or deep water. This high-pace cardiovascular workout uses the resistance of the water to the fullest. 45 minutes.
Comprehensive Fitness Assessments
A comprehensive fitness assessment provides you with baseline measurements and information to see how you are progressing towards your fitness goals. A comprehensive fitness assessment includes measures of weight, resting heart rate, blood pressure, body composition, cardio respiratory fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility. At the conclusion of your assessment, we will explain each test and your results. Recommendations will be made based on your current fitness information. Members: $30, Non-Members: $80
Get Real: Real-Life Weight Management
Change your life with this simple yet comprehensive 10 week weight management program! The YMCA of the USA, in conjunction with IDEA Health and Fitness Association, has developed the Get Real program to incorporate health and wellness habits into your everyday life for the rest of your life. These new healthy habits are designed to promote weight management, increase energy, stress management and a positive self image through self empowerment, active living and sensible eating. Stop the cycle of fad dieting and the never ending weight loss-weight gain roller coaster once and for all and GET REAL! Members: $55, Non-Members: $90 (Price includes textbook)
