2008 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA. For the past 40 years, the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA has been serving Shelby County and providing programs which reflect our Mission, to put Christian principles into practice to benefit all Shelby County residents through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA will use the milestone to recognize key individuals with the establishment of a new level of volunteer recognition titled the Triangle of Honor Award. This award will be considered the highest honor the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA can bestow on any one individual. The award will specifically serve to honor those who have made a significant impact on the YMCA over the course of its history.
The YMCA will also celebrate major accomplishments, such as the three additions to the 300 E. Parkwood location, the new Emerson Climate Technologies Playground, the Child Care West location at the Salvation Army Building and much more.
