The Y. So Much More.

Welcome to the Y. We're an inclusive organization of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to youth development, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.

We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, with a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

The Sidney Police Department in conjunction with Wal-Mart is proud to announce a unique learning opportunity for both parents and children ages 10 through 14 on topics relating to the internet, computers and cell phone use in todays world.

This class will be taught by members of the Sidney Police Department and is designed for parents and children to attend together. The class is open to any resident of Shelby County who has school age children between 10 and 14 years of age. The program will provide up to date information about the digital age we live in and educate parents and children on the benefits and dangers of the internet. Class size is limited to 48 participants (24 parents and 24 children) and will be held at the Sidney Police Dept. training facility on July 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM. Participants are asked to pre-register by July 22, 2014. If more than 48 participants apply, a second date may be scheduled later in the summer.

Your story is our story.

This summer we are joining Ys across the country in celebrating individuals’ stories of how the Y is so much more. We encourage you to join in to be inspired, spread the word and even win prizes:
• Watch three short, inspiring videos and share them with friends and family:
A powerful story of transformation. A story of finding confidence through learning. And a story of giving back you won’t soon forget.
• Show us photos of what the Y means to you! Enter our Photo Challenge:  A to Z for a chance to WIN free annual memberships to the Y and a trip to see Catapult Entertainment, from “America’s Got Talent,” perform on their national tour.
