• YMCA Administration -
  • Part Time HR Assistant

    • The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of employment law and will ensure compliance with same. Responsibilities include reference checks; on-boarding and orientation of new employees; fingerprinting; maintenance of personnel and payroll information; assisting accountant with payroll; benefits management, in addition management of Workers Comp and unemployment claims.

      The individual selected will have at least two (2) years of experience in human resources; be proficient in Word and Excel; have exceptional organizational and communication skills and be attentive to detail. Excellent customer service skills is a must along with support of the YMCA Mission.

YMCA Child Watch
Part-time position available. Engage with children ages infant through 6 years old through creative play while their parents work out!

Days & hours available are:

  • Mon, Tues, Thrs. & Friday 8:15 am to 11:30 am

    •  Child Development Center Director

    General Function:

    Under the direction of the YMCA Executive Director the Child Development Center Director will administer and provide leadership and direction for the YMCA Child Development Center at the main program site for the infant, toddler, half day and full day preschool, school age, before and after school and summer day camp programs. Through this direction he/she will insure the high quality and maximum enrollment of these programs. This is a full time, exempt, salaried position.

    Knowledge/Experience:

    The CDC Director must have a minimum of five (5) years of child care program experience, either an associate’s degree (AA) or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECU) or an approved related field for ECE teachers or school age teachers, or Career Pathway Level (CPL). He/she must possess strong skills in the following areas: verbal and written communication, organization and planning, supervision of staff and children, time management and budgeting. The CDC Director needs to be able to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with staff, parents, children and volunteers and be a role model for the YMCA Character Development values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Certification in CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention is required.  
     


                             
                                                              
    YMCA Aquatics Department
    • SEASONAL PART TIME COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM HEAD COACH

    The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the staff of our highly regarded swim team as a part-time coach. The Head Swim Team COach must be committed to the YMCA mission, vision, and goals as the basis of carrying out the duties of this position.
     
    Qualifications:
     - Certifications must be current and include: Safety Training for Swim COaches, Professional Rescuer CPR, First Aid, Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving
     - Must be able to demonstrate coaches' safety skills in accordance with Red Cross standards.
     - Must meet all USA Swim Association head coach requirements
     - Must be 21 years of age or older

    YMCA Kinetics Department
    NEW! FULL TIME KINETICS PROGRAM ASSISTANT

    Under the Kinetics Coordinator’s supervision help develop, organize and implement high quality gymnastic/cheerleading/acrobatic programs. The preferred candidate will spend approximately 85% of their time teaching, with the balance of their time devoted to daily operations and building a top-notch team of individuals who are 100% committed to providing outstanding customer service. This position supports the work and mission of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, health living and social responsibility.     • Coaches/Instructors/Assistants. All candidates should possess a positive attitude and a desire for excellence. Experience in gymnastics, tumbling desired; job requirements include spotting and technical efficiency in gymnastics/tumbling. Salary range depends on experience.

    YMCA Wellness Department
     
    Part-time positions available for:
    • The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic mission driven Wellness Center Coach/Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for engaging people of all ages to build relationships and help each individual to reach their health and wellness goals. The Wellness Center Coach/Trainer is a part-time position with morning and evening shifts available. Certifications are a plus but not required as the Y will provide training to the right candidate.     • The Wellness Department is seeking group exercise class instructor experience who desire to positively impact people’s lives.
